TIGERS PUNCH THEIR TICKET TO THE POSTSEASON!

November 3, 2009
By Brent Bondurant of Scotland Co High School

The Scotland County Tigers solidified their spot in the Class 1A state plyoffs by defeating the North Shelby Raiders 18-6 on the final contest of the regular season.  Kyle Shelley ran for a touchdown, and blocked a punt, which was returned for a touchdown by fellow senior Brandon Garnett.  Cody Taft sealed the deal in the fourth quarter on a 53 yard run around end, to cap the scoring.  Brock Bondurant and Brandon Garnett each had an interception for the Tiger cause.

The Tigers finish the season at 6-4, 3-4 in the Tri-Rivers Conference, and 2-1 in district play.  Scotland County will travel to Marceline on Wednesday night for the opening round of the state playoffs.
